VELVET AND VECTOR
Between precision and tactility lies a field of quiet tension. Velvet and Vector examines how structure and softness operate side by side — geometry meeting surface, emotion shaped by forms that hold it in place
The exhibition brings together works that move between two distinct yet closely related impulses. Some follow the disciplined logic of the line: direction, clarity, and a sense of intentional construction. Others lean into material presence - surfaces that absorb light, textures that slow the gaze, and colours that hold a quiet emotional charge
Seen together, these works do not sit on opposite ends of a spectrum. Instead, they reveal how the measured and the intuitive often depend on one another. A precisely drawn edge can carry warmth; a soft surface can contain a deliberate structure. The dialogue between the works suggests an ongoing negotiation, where ideas are tested through touch, and feeling is shaped through form
Velvet and Vector is presented not as a fixed theme but as a condition that emerges from the artists’ practices. It describes a balance between what can be defined and what remains sensed - a space where clarity softens and tactility gains direction. In this meeting point, gesture becomes thoughtful, and structure becomes quietly expressive.
